Ok, so I have a cool image of this strange building, and I want is the background of one of the characters in my manga so here's what I need:. I need a tutorial or a description of how to a realistic style manga. Tutorials GIMP can, paint tool sai, or website. Please, if you submit a tutorial please an example. I appreciate the help.
This is only possible to automate when working with 3D generated by computer (or, if by chance you happen to have a normal map the image in question I recommend you have doubts). Sometimes what you do is literally draw on an image to view animation. You can do this in Photoshop, keep the bottom as a layer and hide it when done.

My son has painted miniatures for over 10 years. He is now at the point that he uses Acrylic paints, with no problems. You can get 2 fl. oz. for a dollar at any Craft store. Like Micheal's, JoAnn Fabrics and Hobby Lobby.
You can mix them together, or add white/black for a different shade. You can use water to get a wash look

Photoshop Elements 8 is hands down the best you can get for under $200 and its actually only $80.
Although I use Photoshop CS4 extended, I have used PSe 8 quite a bit. You wont notice any fetures missing as I presume you won't have a need for them.
The only tool missing is the pen tool... it is very useful *if* you know/want to learn how to use it.
But definitely get PS Elements!!

How does a white bedroom affect mood?

It started out as white with a lavender tinge to it, and I lived with it from age 4-13 or so. I then got the idea of painting it lime green and pink, which only lasted from 13-15. I liked the colours, but got bored of them quickly and they clashed with everything I had in my room. I then painted it a medium blue like this:

That is the colour it is now. Again, I'm bored with it and it clashes with most of the things in my bedroom.
I'm thinking white because to me it's so pure and clean and simple and you don't have to think about it. I wouldn't have to worry about anything clashing with it...I could brighten the room up with colourful posters and paintings.
I know certain bedroom colours are better than others. Certain colours create more harmony and all of that. Is white a good bedroom colour?
Bright white has the issue that any little smudge, dirt, dust, imperfection, anything, will stick out dramatically.
Also, when it is clean, it will feel clinical.
I would say try something a little less dramatic... or don't worry so much about clashing. Either will solve the issue.

Revamp your kitchen for the price of a tin of paint
These days there is a paint for any surface so if your kitchen cupboard doors are made from non standard materials and you dont know which paint to use then simply contact a local decorator or a local decorators trade centre and most will be happy to advise you, as a painter and decorator in my home town of Doncaster in South Yorkshire, I have on my website www.dn3decorating.co.uk the message "even if you only require advice we are happy to help", but even those who don't say it will be pleased at an opportunity to show off there knowledge.
Preparing the site.
As the most popular materials the doors are made from are woods and laminates I will focus on these. First you will require an area where you can work besides the kitchen itself as you will need to remove the doors for preparing and painting, you will also require dust free dust sheets to paint your doors on and preferably some thin off cuts to stand your doors on to minimise the contact between the wet paint and the dust sheets. It is important at this point to stress that this area is not for any prepping work it is for painting only.
Preparing the doors.
Okay, so we have our painting area ready so now we need to remove the doors and then the door furniture, handles and hinges, then if the weather is fine take the doors outside and using a very fine sandpaper begin preparing the surface, remember to do both sides ( a 50cm door should take about 2-3 minutes per side of sanding) this time will vary depending on the condition of each individual door but it will serve as a rough guide. Sanding completed, using sugar soap thoroughly wash down the doors as they may and probably will have grease on them even though you can't see it and it could penetrate through the paint if not thoroughly dealt with. When dry go over them again with a tack cloth, these are cloths that will remove any dust that may remain on the door, you can buy them from any trade centre or large D.I.Y store.
Applying the paint.
The next stage is to take the doors to the dust free area and apply the primer coat and for this stage I would use Zinsser primer sealer stain killer, this will block the original colour of the doors, help the finishing paint to bond and seal it, and as it is an acrylic it will be dry in about 15 minutes and recoatable in 45.
Now the good bit, applying the two finishing coats. Sand down using a between coats paper and wipe with a tack cloth. first which paint ? this will depend on the finish you are looking for but i would reccomend an eggshell finish and Dulux Diamond eggshell in particular because as the name suggests it provides a diamond hard finish with excellent adhesion quality's. Apply the eggshell using 4" sponge gloss rollers after first using a brush on the "fiddly bits", mouldings etc; then simply roll the paint on to the suface of the door, it will be dry in less than an hour but leave for about 6 hours giving the first coat time to cure then sand with between coats paper clean off with a tack cloth and apply the final coat, leave overnight to cure and re fix the handles and hinges. job done.

Need to clear coat a painted counter top in kitchen area. What is the best product to use.?

I am going to paint mine with epoxy paint , and was told to use polyurathine , dry 24 hours then another coat , they say it wont crack peel and one lady had it for over a year !

It seems that no matter what i do i can not get GW paint to stick to metal figures.
heres my process:
-I prime the metal figure with chaos black spray paint.
-I wait 5 mins and then do another layer of primer.
-I wait one min, then add my first layer of paint.
-I then add a dry brush of a different color to first layer of paint.
-i wait 10 mins, take my figure nail to the paint and it scratches the paint off, leaving a silver metal hole where the paint used to be. It even takes off the black primer.
can someone suggest what might be wrong? Thanks
Your not giving the primer enough time to dry. Try a few hours at least, so it really sets in. And even then I don't know if it could hold up against being scrapped off by your nail. But your just not giving it enough time to dry most likely.

Filter Iron Contamination From Your Water
If you formerly lived in an area where iron in the water is a problem, you were probably relieved that you could move away! It is one of the most overt problems with drinking, cooking, and cleaning water because of the flavor, stains and color.
Iron found in water is in two different forms. The first is ferrous iron, or iron(II) oxide, or FeO. Water containing ferrous oxide will be colorless and clear. However, FeO rapidly oxidizes when exposed to air and forms ferric oxide, or Fe(III) oxide, or Fe2O3. This iron ion compound has a reddish brown color used in red paint pigment. This is the compound of iron that makes the red and brown stain in the toilet, sink, or tub.
Ferric oxide's ability to stain also appears in the laundry. Whites are no longer white and this problem is not easily corrected. It only takes a little iron, .3 parts per million, to cause these problems. When we lived in the country on well water, my white shirts gradually lost their whiteness, especially on the sleeves. The water was not colored nor bad tasting, but the laundry showed we had an iron problem. It was finally solved when my wife added borax to the water when she washed whites.
As if the staining weren't bad enough, the iron also leaves an unpleasant metal taste in the water. Plus, you've probably noticed, the iron reacts with the tannin in tea, coffee, and alcohol, giving it an ugly gray to black appearance.
Try this simple test to determine what kind of iron you have in your water. First, fill a clear glass with your suspected water and let it stand for fifteen to twenty minutes. If the water becomes clear as the iron settles to the bottom, you have ferric iron in your water. This means that the particles are large enough to filter out, about five microns or smaller.
If this is the case, a cartridge filter such as an activated carbon or charcoal filter will remove the iron and clear up the water. The particles will lodge in the filter and can be backwashed or scrubbed out when the filter is cleaned.
On the other hand, if the particles did not fall to the bottom, then a cartridge filter will probably not be able to remove them. In this case either a water softener or an iron removal system will be needed. These are beyond the scope of this article.
When you filter drinking water with a cartridge charcoal filter, there is an added bonus. Whether or not iron is a problem with the water, many other contaminants, including some that are harmful, are also removed. These may include many hydrocarbons, pathogens and bacteria, chlorine and chlorine compounds, nitrates and nitrites, and heavy metals.
Iron is needed in our systems but not in the form present in water contamination. This is rather a potentially expensive nuisance that stains clothing and plumbing fixtures and ruins flavoring. Removing iron(III) from your drinking water by means of a cartridge filter is a relatively inexpensive fix.

I have a protein skimmer, 3 (350gph) powerheads, 300g filter, 35lbs of liverock, 30lbs of baserock, 2 small soft corals, 1 clownfish, 7 hermit crabs, 5 snails. I have tried everything to get rid of this algae. I am doing daily water changes of 1 gallon and adding distilled water, scraping the algae off the glass once a week with a paint scraper, and testing for phosphates and ammonia every other day. My water status is perfect, my lighting cycle is normal. I have 1 metal hydride bulb and a regular saltwater flourescent light. Any suggestions or help would be great as I am new to the whole fishtank thing! Thanks!

Test your tank water for nitrates and Phosphates. If you have Green Hair Algae in your tank, your phosphates should read well above .05 mg/L
Use a reverse osmosis, deionization, or a combination RO/DI water filter unit to purify tap water is going to probably be more or at least as effective ad distilled water. These types of filters remove nitrate, phosphate and other chemical elements found in tap water that can lead to algae blooms and other problems. Or try a nitrate filter/denitrator.
Purchase and use Mangrove Plants in your tank or sump.
Check to see if your commercial sea salts contain high levels of ammonia/nitrogen. Purchase and use a good "nitrate sponge". Do not overfeed your tank. Siphon uneaten food and other loose material (detritus) from the substrate
By reducing the nitrate and phosphate levels in your tank, you will soon be healthy and free of the Green Hair Algae. Many of your tank occupants (corals and other invertebrates) will also benefit from the reduced levels.
