Paint Equipment maintenance
Whether you run a a car body repair shop or a mobile car body repair service the maintenance of your paint equipment is paramount. So many problems that can occur during the re-spray of a part can be avoided if due care and attention is paid to the upkeep of the equipment used. From the air hoses, air pressure, paint and lacquer guns to the mixing pots and paint strainers all need to be at their best in order for the repainting to go without any problems.
Maintaining Air Hose and Air Pressure
The air hose is vital for it contains the flow of air that is required by the spray gun for painting. To maintain the air hose just be sure there is no leeks in the air line and all fixings are soundly connected at both ends of the hose.
Air pressure for the line is determined by the paint and lacquer that you use and the spray gun that is required to paint with. Just check the manufactures guide for correct air pressure that the paint, lacquer and the spray gun require for optimal output.
Spray Guns
To keep the spray guns at their best requires constant cleaning, before and after you have used them for spraying. This involves using cleaning solutions like gun wash to run through all its parts, also the holes which sit at the nozzle and either side need to be kept clean , the easiest way to do this is to buy a needle to push through the holes removing any caught up debris. The need for this amount of cleaning is that if paints or lacquers remain in the gun from the previous job they can start to go hard and block the gun so when trying to spray the gun can splutter or spit which will ruin the spray job. Also not cleaning the paint gun properly can result in a paint changing colour depending on the paint which was previously in the gun, you don't want to spray a bumper scratch or bumper scuff the wrong colour
Mixing pots
Mixing pots are vital to keep clean. It always best to use disposable mixing pots when possible, which will reduce the amount of cleaning that is required. Trying to re-clean an already used pot is both time consuming and costly.
Paint strainers
Disposable paint strainers are the best to use and totally eradicate the need for cleaning.

Warmer colors are great for creating a cozy feeling but if the aim is to create a spacious feeling, cooler colours are the better choice. Another fairly quick and easy fix is to add more lighting. Many homeowners think that adding light is a difficult project, but there are several ways to go. Getting additional lighting in the bedroom may be as simple as adding a couple bedside lamps or placing a standing lamp in the corner of the room. There are also expandable arm lamps that can be used at the bedside as well and they are a great option if there is a challenge for space because they attach to the wall. Wardrobes with mirrored doors will help make the bedroom feel more spacious and specifically wardrobes that have sliding doors, these greatly improve a bedrooms ergonomics and still cater to the storage needs in any bedroom. Updating the Look of Your Old Furniture
Achieving a high-end look with your furniture does not require a big pocketbook. You just need a little creativity and you can achieve any look without paying that high price tag. You can even "refresh" the furniture you already have.
You may have furniture lying around that is just plain gorgeous in every aspect except for the color. Or you see a piece of furniture in your room that you know needs a little make over. That is an easy fix. You can paint it any color to your liking and it can completely change the look of your piece of furniture.
Even if you are not an avid painter, do not worry it is not a requirement to be. You can use spray paint, a sponge brush, a standard brush, or any other type of brush for that matter. There are some Painting Techniques that are easy to learn and hard to mess up. Techniques that easily allow you to add character to the piece.
In the end, you come up with a piece that is all your own. You can easily change the look from an "ugly" piece of furniture into a brilliant masterpiece. You will have something to show off. Also, you save a lot of money in the process.
You can also give a new look to upholstered pieces as well. You can create a brand new look without exhausting a lot of time and energy. You can find slipcovers that can fit almost any style of furniture. There are many sources online. You can even purchase your own fabric at a local craft store and make your own easy slipcovers.
Once you have decided on the slipcovers you want to create, throw in some toss pillows and a throw blanket to complete the look. Also, adding fake flowers, candles, and other items can create a very appealing look for your room.
There are countless other ideas that can be created. Such as elevating you bed with several wooded bases to your desired height and paint it to suite your individual taste. For nightstands you can stack suitcases on top of each other or piece of wood on top of any flat base. Be creative.
Remember you don't always have to buy new. Check your local classifieds, thrift stores, or flea markets and find piece of furniture that you can update on your own to suite your room. You can think of how to modify the pieces on your own. Use your imagination. When you purchase the furniture, just make sure it is sturdy and not falling apart.
If you do want to purchase a classic piece that you don't want to update yourself, feel free to do so. One piece of furniture can really bring out a room. The rest of the room you can fill with "budget" furniture to highlight the major piece in the room.
In the end, what you want to come up with is something gorgeous and original. Basically, you want to create something original. It can be a fun learning experience. All your friends will wonder how you created the look or where you bought the furniture. You can tell them it can't be bought anywhere because it was created with your own mind.

Watercolor's and Plein-Air Painting in Utah
Preserving ancient rock art is paramount if we are to preserve our own history of the southwest. Early Native Americans detailed hunting sites, rivers, spiritual and other significant life events onto the rock. Today we can still see these carvings and paintings in the western United States. Painting rock art on watercolor paper or canvas is this author's primary love. The desert flora, birds and peoples create colorful and interesting subject matter.
Plein-air painting of the southwestern United States is a way to enjoy the peace and quiet of this scenic region while creating works of art for sale. I love to paint the red rock and petroglyphs from the Utah area. I have the greatest respect for the ancient carvings of prehistoric Native American Indians. Some of the rock art is in the form of pictographs...painted with pigments naturally present in the minerals and plant life of the area, and dating back to before 800 B.C. "Unfortunately, many of the ranchers of the southwestern areas use the rock art for target practice or defame the rock with spray paint or their own carvings. I am afraid that if I came across someone doing this, I would lose all sense of control and club them senseless."
The native flora, wild birds and wide expanse of scenic beauty is a constant inspiration in the production of my watercolor and oil paintings.
"There is nothing like sitting out in the open, exposed to the elements with only the wind as your companion, to truly appreciate the breathtaking scenery of the southwest. Painting seems to be the natural thing to do after being as one with the scenery. My fingers will literally itch to paint when I am out in the red rock."

Why is the red paint hard to paint with?
I tried to paint my walls with red paint and it looked all blotchy. I prepared it with primer and it is still horrible. Is there something else I should have done?
You are probably using a deep base color which are the hardest to cover with. There is a product called acra-plex primer that is designed for these situations. It comes in many colors, including red. Prime with this first when using deep base colors and you will be able to cover in 2 coats. Having said that, I rarely use it as I like the depth of color achieved with multiple coats of deep bases. It is not uncommon for me to apply up to 6 coats in some circumstances and the end result will blow you away.

Oil Painting Techniques that are Easy, Simple, FUN! For Sale
The purpose of this article is primarily in oil painting, it is my duty therefore to explore this subject. If the information in my about me is nothing new for a mere inventory of common knowledge, however, in the technical part, I refer to my research and my personal technique to compete in all areas with all the other painting techniques, including speed of execution on the field and transparency and precision.
The oil painting is a technique that aims to create an image on a surface by applying it to color with oil. The oil painting appeared in Europe in the late Middle Ages, where she was quickly adopted for the more easy to use, it allowed a greater variety of effects than existing techniques based wax, such as paint in encaustic, or water-based, such as tempera. It is the Dutchman who developed the oil colors from the 15th century, mixing pigments with linseed oil.
The pigments were ground on a porphyry marble table until until pasty paint, a little creamy.
The oil painting is characterized by drying (oxidation is more correct) relatively slow which does little to affect the color if it is a thin gray film caused by oxidation of the binder, clearly visible on dark colors, but that is easily absorbed by a layer of varnish, paint then finding all their splendor ... provided to make a careful selection of the pigments used. Therefore, it is easy to match colors, or mix them to create gradients, it is also easy to make changes to a work.
The artist is not obliged to stick to keys linear: it can use the glaze or wash, look for consistencies liquids, impasto, or spray paint on his support. The oil painting makes a rich color effects, contrast and chiaroscuro ... However, the choice of technique also depends on the color stability over time!
The oil painting is made of powdered pigments mixed with oil, air drying, or more precisely, the binder (linseed oil), which hardens into oxidized, which slow siccativity. To increase its speed siccativity, this oil is commonly added complementary products driers (beware additions lead compounds that darken the pigment over time).
The pigment should be insoluble, chemically inert, and does not discolor. It is typically used as a binder of linseed oil, poppy (poppy oil) or nuts. Finally, some argue that the addition of a varnish paint, varnish as Damar, allow a better homogeneity. Since the 19th century, the colors are sold in tin collapsible tubes.
The support of an oil painting is very important: indeed, if the paper allows a good conservation work, a canvas is superior quality. We also find cotton cloth or burlap stretched over a frame or glued (that is to say, stuck) on wood is a medium convenient but fragile panel wood tends to swell or crack; Finally, the backup of a mural depends on the humidity of the wall.
Support is coated with a primer, a thin layer of plaster-based or other material added gypsum glue. This primer serves to make the media less absorbent, and it also helps to get a regular painted surface, neither too rough nor too smooth. White in color, it stretches into several regular layers (one or two layers in the paintings of commerce, was 7-10 additional primers it is advisable to add to get excellent glaze by narrowing the risk of AMBUS).
The oil painting traditionally includes several steps: this applies to the painting "traditional" not for my own personal technique which aims at maximum capacity and spontaneous labor (total absence of preliminary drawing for example, that prevents: waste of time, danger of alteration of the pigments that cover them, lack of spontaneity, which undermines the whole work, especially in transparency). First, traditionally, the design is sketched on the primer pencil, charcoal or paint thinned with turpentine. Different color areas are then painted slightly and several times with a thicker paint, in which we add oil and varnish. The nature of the support contributes greatly to the conservation of paintings.
Pigments are colored elements that have been ground into powder and then mixed with a binder to be used by the artist. This is the result of this mixture which is characterized by a pasty substance called painting. The amount of binder used depends on the nature of the pigments and the size of the particles of powder, which is very variable.
Binders of low quality undermine the conservation works, despite the quality of the pigments. Detailed knowledge of pigment chemistry are essential to the serious artist, concerned with the preservation of his work, do I mention this knowledge in this site (chemical pigment).
The oil paint applied usually with bristle brush or badger hair or sable, more flexible. You can also use a flexible spatula, wide blade, called "knife", or paint with your fingers. For these "traditional" implementation of the work can be done in a few sessions, or take months or even years of work. After drying, the paint varnish, to protect it from dirt and enhance color.
If the practice of oil painting is old, it was not until the 15th century and the Flemish painter Jan Eyck there appears a new technique for allowing easier processing, a color rendering of light and a risk of fullness (chemical weathering of the painted surface causing undesirable dullness) less important.
Van Eyck experimentation this technique, while maintaining the conventions of tempera, with a detailed drawing, executed on a plate coated with a plaster coating, then covered with several transparent glazes. In Italy, it was Antonello da Messina, who popularized this method, which the painters of the Renaissance took advantage of all resources.
That the Venetians that we must move to painting on canvas, which allowed to ride during a trip. These artists adopted a freer style, characterized by oil glaze on a monochrome background simple past "tempera".
The artists of Holland Rembrandt and Frans Hals and Velasquez Spanish orientate their research towards more slurred. In the 19th century, advances in chemistry brought new pigments, bright and shiny. With the invention of tubes of tin, that could collapse and that supplanted the old bladders, artists were now able to paint nature outside the studio.
With the new artificial additives which allow to preserve the freshness of the painting, it became easier to use method of impasto. Paint a background was no longer a necessity. The French Impressionists and their paintings covered with multitudes of small touches of bright colors, placed directly on the canvas.
If acrylic paint, easier to use, has nowadays preferred by many artists because of its ease of application (close watercolor), the sensuality of the medium and the interest in traditional techniques allows the Oil Painting retain its attraction.
It was necessary to exceed the speed of execution own acrylic paint which, although some claim (for commercial purposes. Maybe), is still far from offering guarantees stabilities of oil paint ( because of the importance of liquid additives required, without which the painting becomes rubbery inside the tubing, which is not the case with oil painting.) It was necessary to advance the technical work oil by using all the scientific knowledge about the choice of pigments (pigments fifteen actual quality is amply sufficient for the palette of a professional painter) and find new work processes that allow total creative freedom while adapting to the rapid evolution of this third millennium.
This technique "revolutionary" who allowed me to get twice the title of "World Champion Master of pictorial art, and one of my disciples, Luxembourg Roby Diederich, to rank third in the competition in Geneva, I explain in detail in the pages of the "technical" in my book, and this site ..
By demonstrating, through my art, it is possible to work as quickly oil and watercolor and acrylic, without preliminary sketches, with a minimum of pigment, without additional additives to avoid overloading pigments and distort with time (yellowing, browning, cracking, etc..), with a technique that allows both the high precision flat areas (see Working with a magnifying glass) in any style (figurative, abstract , etc..), the Painter can finally mastered his work with a minimum of stress ... while creating works of a technical quality never matched!
I note that the time is long siccativity, I forbid the use of any desiccant additive (usually lead-based, except manufacturing, the French legislation banning) not harm the quality of the pigments but ... web on time never fails to dry! It is precisely this new technique is called "Impressionism-modern.

how do you make a wood wash paint?
I am wanting to wood wash my door in a light black/grey, but I cant seem to find this colour anywhere. Is there a way that I can make this texture
this is an internal door
Hi thanks for getting back to me yes this is a raw wood door. Nothing has been added yet
Gort . . . wash isn't texture, it's technique and color; being that you want black/grey I need to know how the door stands right now in order to competently walk you through the correct steps and technique to achieve this finish, i.e., is the door raw wood, clear coated, painted etc.
If you get back to me on the above I'll help you with the finishing schedule to get exactly what it is you want.
**Got your message. OK, here's what you need to do -
(1) Pick the color that you want from the paint department and then look next to or below that color and choose the next darker shade and get this mixed in a quart of flat paint.
(2) With #220 sandpaper and a finishing sander sand the unfinished wood door on all planes until it has a smooth feel. Dust with either a vacuum or compressed air and then tack cloth the door down to remove any remaining dust particles (nothings worse then debris in a finish).
(3) Now here's where I need to get with you for more detail if you want this to have a metal/industrial look. Right now I'll assume you just want a straight wash.
Cut the Quart of paint with a pint water to thin it; with a rag or sponge work it over the door; if it's not dark enough let the first application completely soak in and then re-apply until you get the color you want. If the colors too dark, take a second damped sponge an systematically work from top to bottom or bottom to top, wiping the door down and effectively removing someof the color saturation, i.e. thinning out the color. In either case, the even application and distribution is key. The differences in the grain densities and patterns will provide the washed appearance.
(4) Once the wash is applied and dry I apply a coat of sanding sealer as the moisture from the coating will lift the grain. Now, be sure to use a waterborne sanding sealer because it'll set up and dry in about 20 minutes, and it'll bond to the latex/acrylic paint you used as a wash better. This is available in the home centers and most hardware stores.
(5) When the sealers dried you need to re-sand the door, this time using #320 sandpaper and vac/air and tack it down again.
(6) Here's where we get the look you want in the finished product. Apply a top and final finish coat of Min-Wax "Polycrylic" Urethane in satin, semi-gloss- or gloss to the door. I prefer satin and two coats will give you a beautiful protective finish that will last.
There are applications where waterborne products perform exceptionally well. . . this is one of them. It won't yellow as with traditional petroleum based urethanes; the finish dries faster, and it is harder/tougher when cured.

Painting Dark Walls
Painting Dark Walls

The Dark Room Solution
Light! More light! Usually, people who want to paint their rooms get the advice to paint them in a light, neutral color. This can work if you like neutral colors, but if your passion is for saturated dark color, you can do a lot with it on the walls of your home.
Black is the ultimate neutral. Surprisingly enough, black walls can be a great alternative to the usual whites or beiges that most people think of when they ponder a neutral wall scheme. With the right lighting and furniture accents, black walls can be dramatic and sophisticated. Care must be taken, however, to brighten the room with light furniture and decorations. Consider pairing black walls with colorful accents like red, teal, purple as well as lighter shades such as pink, baby blue and lilac for interest.
Brown is an underrated color that can bring saturated warmth into a room and serve as a backdrop to just about any color accent. A chocolate brown wall is great for showing off brighter colors while lending some color to the room scheme itself. Chocolate brown and blue combinations have recently been popular, but chocolate brown goes great with reds, yellows and greens.
Red is a color that has long been used sparingly in the wall palette, except for red brick fireplace areas.. However, a rich, dark red can lend a room sophistication and elegance that's hard to beat. Burgundy is a great color to put on walls and goes well with many colors and textures. A good dark red is matched well with black (but not too much!), white, antique browns and accents of the cooler colors.
Blues have long been a part of the wall palette in their lighter shades. However, a deep royal blue can make a wonderful wall color when paired with white, yellow and other light accents, furniture and decorations. Blue panels can also lend a significant amount of color without being garish or blinding.
Greens also are a common wall color in their brighter varieties. A forest green, though, can be understated and soothing to the eye. Paired with browns, yellows and creams, the darker greens can provide an elegant solution to your walls.
Purple is somewhat hard to use for a room, as the color walks the line between warm and cool. Some of the darker purples, such as aubergine (eggplant), can work well with a variety of colors. The richer purples, such as royal, can pose more of a challenge to match so that the purple doesn't overwhelm the room. Light greens, creams, rich red browns and yellows can provide great contrast to a purple room.
The ceiling and the floors can offer some contrast, especially if you're worried about your dark room being too dark. Light colored ceilings and floors can give the illusion of height that dark walls accentuate. Another method of contrasting is painting the walls different colors. One wall can be used as an accent wall and painted a dark/light color, depending on how dark/light you want the room to be. Two-tone walls also provide a way to use dark colors without darkening a room too much.
Don't shy away from dark colors! They may require some more thought as to accents and dark/light combinations than your average light wall color, but they can make a room striking and unusual. Coming to the dark side, in this instance, isn't all bad!

Painting the dark walls?
I have very dark brown walls, the colour of bitter sweet chocolate. I will be painting them a light cream colour. I have done 2 coats of a top quality primer, however, the dark is still bleeding thru a bit. My question is this: do the walls have to be completely white with primer with no bleeding, or can I paint now? I have a top quality paint and plan to do 2 coats. Thanks
Paint is going to cover better than any primer. No it does not have to be completely white. What you've done should be completely fine to paint over. I have painted dark paneling which is pretty much the same scenario. No problem!

Use Paint to Add Punch!
After speaking to a decorator recently, he described a common behavior in many of his clients. Clients bring him photos of designer rooms expressing a desire to replicate the look in their own homes. They say they're ready for a change and want to add some punch to their tired decor. Inevitably, they begin to lose their nerve, and when it comes down to choosing the paint colors, they tone it down two or three shades lower than originally planned. There goes the punch, and the bland decorating scheme returns once again.
This year the trends in paint colors can't help but pack some punch. If you've been dreaming about updating your walls, now is the time. Not only are the colors bright and exciting, they're being used in interesting ways, only limited by your imagination. It's ok to mix decorating styles, decor periods, or blend classical with contemporary looks.
The trend toward green construction and building products has spilled over to decorating schemes. Natural products from bamboo, cotton, and wood are popular. As are non-toxic paints, and wall papers with rustic floral or nature inspired patterns. Glass with a clean, transparent look is being used more for dividers and kitchen back splashes.
Earthy colors such as beiges, browns, tans are commonly used, but with stone or mineral accents. A popular avocado green blends well with red, fern, pine or sage, only to be combined with clear blue or aqua for added punch.
On the total opposite end of the spectrum comes a cosmopolitan influence that dares to combine the rustic country feel with the exotic. Take earthy colored metals, such as copper, bronze and gold, and intermingle with Bamboo, Brazilian Cherry or other exotic woods, then add a splash of silk or embroidered velvet.
The Asian influenced, bright-hued colors are also hot this year, like vivid reds, greens, purples, fuchsia, turquoise and bright yellow. The most popular of all is the rich eggplant shade of aubergine. Take these strong shades and temper them with a contrast of metallic silver or a glossy or antique finish.
The other predominant look encourages open spaces, clean lines and functionality. Add to that a whimsical feel, but chic – designer whimsy, if you will. Begin with a beige or other neutral background and using some of those bright or metallic colors, add an accent wall of bold stripes or psychedelic patterns. Add accessories made from light or dark wood, shiny metal or glass. Other colors drawn from for this look come right out of the 60's and 70's, such as bright orange, avocado green, iris blue, acid yellow, or hot pink.
This year, when it comes to paint colors, you have a large palette to work with. Have fun and be creative. When you're selecting paint samples, dare to choose your original color and you'll get just the look you were after.

What wall color goes with an ugly beige stone wall - or should I paint the stone?
We just bought a 90-year old small house with a new-ish looking stone wall flanking the windows in the living room. The stone is light beige with dark grey grout. The window and other trim is medium brown stained wood. The rug is off white with specs of other colors. We have steely-blue chairs and probably mistakenly purchased rustic black painted end and coffee tables. Should I, can I, paint the stone? If I don't, what wall color would tie the stone and the furniture together??
i have a beige color with a burnt orange....dont be scared! Check out the color at Sherman Williams.com It is called Husky Orange. It is so warm and beautiful. That website will also let you paint a (computer) room different colors so you can see what the colors would look like together. I used that site to pick my color schemes. It was a great help. Good Luck.

What is Augmented Reality? (And what can it do for my business?)
Augmented reality, by definition, is any view of a physical real-world environment whose elements are augmented by virtual computer-generated imagery. This is a fairly broad definition that encompasses a lot of smaller categories.
Augmented reality is a technology that is expanding very quickly, and that has expanded further than most people realize. There have been major breakthroughs in the technology, including miniaturization and development; however there are still some weaknesses and difficulties that have yet to be solved.
When most people think of augmented reality, they tend to think of super futuristic heads-up displays that can instantly provide information on any object it sees, and help direct the user's interactions with reality, like we have seen in the Terminator or Iron Man movies.
However, mobile technologies, digital cameras, cutting edge software developers, and the power of crowd-sourced information has helped build a new generation of augmented reality applications that are pushing the limits of the technology and creating new tools for individuals and businesses to engage each other.
This has transformed augmented reality from bulky hardware setups into small apps that run on common smartphones, home computers, and Internet applications. No longer do we need bulky goggles, awkward setups, or futuristic hardware to make it work, which has opened it up to wide-scale commercial use.
What can it do?
Despite some still existing limitations, augmented reality is actually impressively powerful, especially in mobile devices. We will discuss specific limitations in a bit more detail at the end of this article, but first the good stuff: what it can do.
Augmented Reality on Mobile Devices
Many smartphones, including the Apple iPhone™ and many Android™ phones, now come with a built-in GPS system and compass, which means that the phone can determine its location and know which direction you are facing. This is important because most mobile augmented reality applications rely on knowing your position, rather than on object recognition (but there are a few of those too).
This includes providing directions, providing information on things around you, and updating you when something important happens in your area. For example, if you were in a mall, an augmented reality application could help guide you to stores that had an item you wanted, update you when flash sales and discounts happen, and help you locate your friends should one get lost.
One of the more popular applications on the Droid is Google's™ Sky Map application. Users can hold their phone up to the night sky and instantly see a label for all the stars and constellations. As the user points the phone in different directions, the image on the screen adjusts appropriately to display labels for what the user is viewing in real life.
Other similar applications have taken this technology and applied it to searching. Augmented reality browsers work by displaying search results based on proximity. As you search for the nearest pizza restaurant or hotel, these browsers will display the results in real-time digital information on top of the real world, as seen through the camera on your mobile phone. As you hold your phone up to the horizon and spin around, the overlay will show you which results appear in whichever direction you are looking.
One of the most impressive reality browser is called Layar, which allows users and developers the ability to build custom tools. As a result, users can search for hundreds of different types of things, including nearby tweets, nature pictures, service opportunities, and community events. Layar can display 3D object overlays, such as displaying the Berlin wall as it stood before 1989, or accurately placed information icons.
Augmented Reality with Webcams and Internet Applications
Another form of augmented reality that is becoming increasingly common in mobile and web applications is the use of webcams or phone cameras to overlay images onto whatever the camera is viewing.
In many cases this uses QR codes, essentially a high-tech barcode, or other visual cues in order to know how to display an object. For example, magazines, business cards, trading cards, or other materials can be printed in order to provide visual cues to the camera. Hold the card closer to the webcam and the object gets bigger; tilt or rotate the card, and the virtual object moves along with you.
This lets you virtually manipulate objects, which can be great for online shopping, games, development, and other applications. There are hundreds of examples that are currently in use, but each of them provide a new level of interactivity that gives the user the ability to "interact" with the product, rather than just see pictures or video.
Some of these applications also recognize physical gestures, which lets you control the application just by standing in view of the camera and making the appropriate gestures. For example, some applications let you virtually try on clothing from an online store. By using simple gestures, like raising your arm to the right or left, you can move to the next article of clothing, or add the current one to your shopping cart, or change the color, or any number of programmable commands.
This gives the user full control without the need to return to the computer to make selections or work with the program.
Digital live cameras have also been employed in augmented reality billboards. These billboards record what is happening on the street below, and overlay information or advertising.
One example is in Amsterdam where a prerecorded video of EMTs and medical personnel are attacked when trying to rescue an injured person. This prerecorded (and staged) video is overlaid onto a live video of people on the street. When you look at the billboard, you see what looks like a tragic event taking place. The message is that everyone needs to be aware of public servants, and help keep them safe.
This type of impact marketing reaches audiences by showing them what a situation would look like in real life. This can be for public safety situations, as described above, or for product promotion in which the audience can visualize how a certain product might look in their own home.
Custom Augmented Reality Business Integration
Companies have also started building their own augmented reality platforms for training, efficiency, and performance improvement. These projects help new and experienced employees hone their skills, learn new techniques, and respond more quickly to real-time information.
One example is BMW which is in the process of deploying its own augmented reality application for mechanics. This application is designed to improve training time, reduce errors and increase efficiency by guiding mechanics through the repair process.
This platform, which is an integration of custom hardware and software, has mechanics use specialized goggles that employ object recognition to accurately display select car parts in their real location. Not sure how to remove the radiator? This system will show you exactly which parts you need to move and remove in order to replace it. It does this by overlaying images of each part, and gives visual instructions for removing each piece.
Augmented reality applications are already being developed in many other industries, including health care and natural resource development. The increased access to real-time information gives managers and on-the-ground people, from well drillers to brain surgeons, a leg up on the competition.
What are its limitations?
The limitations mostly depend on the platform. For most businesses seeking to develop something to engage customers, matching the desired features of the application to the right platform may be a large hurdle. We have discussed some suggestions for matching a project to the right platform before, mostly for mobile and desktop applications, and it definitely applies here as well.
Currently, most smartphones depend on GPS and an internal compass for direction and location. This works in many situations, but is limiting because of its inherent inaccuracy. The GPS can tell what street you are on, and the compass can tell generally what direction you are facing, but if you wanted to include accurate overlays on objects or buildings, it would be nearly impossible without object recognition, or other visual location cues. You could get semi-close, sure, but without more powerful object recognition software, and more powerful mobile devices to run that software, there will always be very noticeable incongruities.
Fortunately, like with most technology, it is improving quickly. In a few years, near-real-time object recognition on smart phones will be a reality. Already Google's app "Google Goggles" employs rudimentary object recognition, which can read and translate text, recognize paintings and landmarks, read barcodes among other things, but it still has trouble recognizing and differentiating many common objects. Also, even Google Goggles has a somewhat considerable delay in processing time and using its online knowledge database to make comparisons, which prevents it from being used in a practical AR experience.
Other limitations include wide-spread social adoption of the technology. Mobile devices, webcams, and other necessary technologies are fairly common, but still not everyone uses these devices, and not all those will use augmented reality applications. For now, it is mostly a novelty. But as more people engage the technology, user experience, usability, and quality will improve, which will result in better and more engaging applications.
So what is next?
As technology progresses, expect to quickly see augmented reality become increasingly standard in web and mobile applications. As hardware and software improve, augmented reality will become more mainstream, letting people visualize any product just by scanning its barcode, or even just by pure object recognition.
Integration into mobile devices is a given, but also expect to see it integrated into our social lives and as part of our daily experience. Already game developers, marketers, advertisers, manufactures, doctors and many other industries are working to develop augmented reality applications that will give them a leg up on their competition and produce better results in less time.
As always, we are always willing to take on a challenge and would love to work with you to build a market leading augmented reality product that will impress your clients and your competition. Let us know how our experienced development team can help you succeed.

Cher, spectacular decoration: they do with paint
Any professional or amateur decorator will tell you that the most dramatic change you can do in the room to paint it as a bonus, is one of the cheapest ways to make a big change in a hurry. Especially compared with other changes you can make, the painting has a huge impact at a very affordable price.
A fun way to decorate on the cheap
There are several ways to update or redecorate a room: You can buy new furniture or accessories to change your window treatments or go to a new style of wall decoration. However, all these methods can involve considerable expense and time spent searching for only the elements necessary to achieve the look you want. With painting, however, one or two cans of fresh new colors and inexpensive tools are all you need to do the job. Although the painting does not require an investment of time and effort can be a fun way for a family to spend the weekend. Or some paint, buy a pizza and some invite your friends to help you.
Or, add drama in small doses
If you prefer not to paint all the walls of a room, you can add drama to painting in the lower half of walls, installation a chair rail and decorative, or use a wallpaper border to divide the space with color bands. You can also choose a main wall of a sudden spectacular colors to match the predominant color of the wall.
Another option is to paint the woodwork and work: Choose one clean white to add contrast. Otherwise, the paint timber in the same tone as the walls add a contemporary touch to the room and make your furniture stand.
You can also create custom paint accents. Add a pin stripe just below the roof or around windows or to create a painted frame around your wall art to add a dimension. Paint a mural on the wall in bold geometric shapes with painters blue tape to create blocks color. Painters tape can also be used to add streaks on the wall is the impact of boat, you can also choose two different colors and add just a touch that mimics the role of traditional high wall. You can even paint abstract swirls and flowers to add interest when necessary.
The big advantage of using paint
Few materials are as versatile decorative and come in such a range of colors, the paint, so it's easy to find shades that will equal or accent your decor. The paint can be used for a unifying effect, if you choose a tone that gets all the elements of color in the meeting room. The paint also can be used to highlight a decoration preferred: a tomato red sofa comes to life against a gray wall, where they exist only in front of a white wall.
Of course, one of the great advantages of painting is that it is easy to paint over the existing color or tired when you decide to go with a new style. It is much easier to paint that is to remove the wallpaper and less expensive than buying a sofa.

How can I get this band on my painting?
I have to finish my painting art for Monday and I fight for this purpose. It strips act as a background of a black and white car in a corner. How can I achieve this without having to "go out"? Thank you! This http://a1.twimg.com/profile_background_images/164183922/xcc30049280af3d16bd63759b4b3de60.png is the link. It's actually pretty easy, but not mention the media you use. I'm going to guess acrylic. If so, you need an environment that will reduce the drying time and no use a brush and put on mix tapes hazelnuts random between colors.

Hair Color and Hair Highlights
Regularly the culprits of dry coloring and dreary hair are all the styling products that we frequently use. They establish to build up and dull the shine and tone of our hair. Get rid of the build up by mixing 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar with one gallon of condensed water. This can be stored in a cupboard or the refrigerator and employed every couple of weeks to keep hair high-pitched rinse. To utilize it, damp hair with lukewarm water, or shampoo and wash as usual. Then pour 2 cups over the scalp and let mixture saturate the hair. Finish up with a cold-water rinse. If your hair didn't turned out just right. Find out if it's fixable. Semipermanent color takes 48 hours to set so you have a window of time to get to it. First, shampoo a couple times with a clarifying or dandruff shampoo. These are known to shred hair of color (which is why you're always told not to utilize these on colored hair). If you missed your 48 hour window of time, don't concern, semipermanent color rinses out in 6-8 washes.
For a milder, in general lightening, employ chamomile tea (brewed in boiling water and cooled) and/or lemon juice, and clean your freshly shampooed and conditioned hair with it, then go out into the sun and let dehydrated. For reddish highlights, employ a rinse mixed with a bit of lemon juice and brewed red zinger tea. With the sun's help you will have natural red highlights. Both teas can be found in health food supplies. Getting your hair color true isn't a science. It's really quite simple: Stick to the colors that praise your skin tone, figure out if you're best off with all-over color or highlights & then select if you're going to pay someone else to do it or do it manually.
Different Types of Highlights.
There are essentially four types of highlights: basic foil highlights, bialiage or 'hair painting', massing or 'piecing' & lowlighting.
Home-color kits have come a extensive means in the past few years & are ideal for busy people & those who desire cut the charge of professional colorings. (We know of a couple top fashion editors who color their hair themselves!). A few home hair coloring tips: massage Vaseline around your hairline as a shielding measure before applying color. To get rid of after coloring, massage a little amount of cream cleanser & wipe off with cotton balls.
Refresh your dye by utilized a color-improving shampoo & conditioner once a week. These products leave miniscule amounts of color into hair. You can suppose your color to last about 6 to 8 weeks before your roots show. If you're hair is colored, you'll want to get your roots touched up or do them yourself with a equipment you can buy at the store. Be swayed & test the color former before applying. If you have highlights or lowlights, you can shun having your entire head colored by asking your stylist to do your hairline, crown & ingredient. A word of caution: Foil highlights need precise application & fixing dark roots is nearly not viable. Ask about easier to keep highlighting ways.
