2011 Honda CR-Z Sport Hybrid Dominates 2010 SEMA Show
2011 Honda CR-Z Sport Hybrid Dominates 2010 SEMA Show
MUGEN accessory kit to be offered for CR-Z as Honda Performance Development debuts two CR-Z concept cars
Twelve modified 2011 Honda CR-Z sport hybrid coupes are featured prominently in the Honda booth at the 2010 SEMA Show, which opens today. As the first available sport hybrid, the CR-Z demonstrates new opportunities for vehicle personalization among the import tuner community. Several significant vehicles are being unveiled at the show, including a 2011 CR-Z equipped with MUGEN* accessories, the Honda Performance Development, Inc. (HPD) CR-Z Hybrid R Concept, the HPD CR-Z Racer and several vehicles equipped with Honda Genuine Accessories.
"With the CR-Z sport hybrid coupe, drivers can achieve the great efficiency of a hybrid car without giving up the fun that many demand from a sporty car," said Bruce Smith, vice president of Parts Operations for American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "The combination of greener practicality with style and fun makes this vehicle a perfect fit for young, environmentally conscious buyers looking to further personalize their cars."
A 2011 CR-Z equipped with MUGEN accessories is also being revealed, and Honda announced that in the spring of 2011, it will begin sales of a limited-edition MUGEN accessory kit for the vehicle. Limited to only 300 complete kits, the package includes: a full MUGEN body kit; a front grille; a rear wing spoiler; 17-inch "XJ" aluminum wheels; sport mats; a unique black aluminum shift knob and a billet aluminum oil-filler cap. Further, after purchase, each owner will receive a unique serial-number plaque designating each kit as one of 300 available. All of the painted parts will come color-matched to each of the five available CR-Z colors. Pricing details will be made available closer to the on-sale date.
Also unveiled today were two concept vehicles from HPD: the CR-Z Hybrid R Concept and the HPD CR-Z Racer. Though neither vehicle is intended for sale, HPD, Honda's North American racing company, was determined to demonstrate the potential of the CR-Z for both street and racing performance. Both vehicles share many performance enhancements, with the CR-Z Hybrid R Concept highlighting Honda-designed street styling and the HPD CR-Z Racer opting for serious racing capability. To demonstrate that capability, HPD will campaign two HPD CR-Z Racers at the 25 Hours of Thunderhill endurance race in December. HPD enhancements to both cars include: a turbocharger and upgraded IMA™ hybrid system, resulting in an estimated combined 200 horsepower and 175 lb-ft. of torque; performance clutch; limited-slip differential; ‘circuit-tuned' suspension; upgraded brakes and aerodynamic components.
Two vehicles were on display to demonstrate currently available Honda Genuine Accessories. For the CR-Z, Honda displayed a vehicle equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels; side, front lip and tailgate spoilers; a rear diffuser; an illuminated door-sill trim and an interior armrest. Additionally, a 2010 Accord Coupe equipped with dealer-installed Honda Factory Performance™ (HFP™) components melded a distinctive, custom appearance with an enhanced level of handling performance. All Honda Genuine Accessories offer the same 3-year/36,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty as the rest of the vehicle, when installed at the time of new vehicle purchase, and are engineered to be fully compatible with each Honda vehicle.
On display as a demonstration concept only, the Accord Crosstour HFP Concept features 19-inch HFP wheels; a full HFP body kit and front grille; a prototype lowered HFP sport suspension; color-matched door handles and special black-out door sash trim.
Reaching out to the import community, Honda invited six independent vehicle tuners to build and display their CR-Z hybrid concepts at the SEMA Show. Tuners were asked to push the limits to improve fuel economy and performance with their builds, and the vehicles on display show the variety of directions in which a personalized sport hybrid can go. Beyond this group, both the Los Angeles Auto Show and Honda Tuning Magazine displayed their CR-Z special project cars in the Honda booth.

The "Green" essence is being interwoven into mainstream living. Younger generations are embracing a cleaner lifestyle. This change doesn't mean that they'll give up cars. They'll just make cleaner choices. The Konig CR-Z is an illustration of embracing an active lifestyle while living cleaner! Rolling around the streets in a slightly lighter, much cleaner, more powerful, precisely handling car that can stop on a dime is nice, but being able to jump out of that car and right onto your bmx bike or skateboard is what it's all about. What do you normal people think about my Civic?
I bought a brand new 2004 Honda Civic Coupe in Satin Silver Metallic color about 3 years ago when I was 17 with Automatic Transmission. Back then I had a job and too much time on my hands and I did a lot of stupid stuff to my Civic that I kind of regret now. Anyways here is what I did to it:
$900 - Retrofitted single-xenon projectors off of Acura TSX with stock Philips 4100k d2s bulbs into my headlights. (So they would look like stock xenon headlights rather than a glaring/blinding drop-in kit) -- I actually did this last year and promised myself it would be the last thing I'd ever do
$500 - Cheap 5 split-spoke 15" Rims
$250 - Lowering Springs w/ approx. 1.5" drop
$200 - 35% Tints all around
$15 - Air vent and center console trim pieces spray painted the color of the car w/ clear coat
$0 - Shaved Emblems except for the "H"
I know a lot of other people do way more than I do. But if you saw my car, would you think I am some stupid kid wasting all his money or what??
The xenons are fine....the rest of the stuff is pretty crappy, in my opinion. I like a car to look nice, but the factory look is almost always best.......sometimes a little touch here and there, but NOT all that crap you've added. I agree with the first answer.

Paint Gloss Finish
Paint Gloss Finish

Paint finishes - What used to Sheen walls, ceilings, bathrooms, trim, kitchens, etc.
For those of you reading this article now on how to choose the right paint finishes congratulations. You are a cut above the rest of the people who think that the shell is of a color.
Before becoming a painter, who was almost as naive as most everyone when it comes to brightness levels. So I thought this article may be of assistance to you to decide, paint finish or gloss level for use in different parts of your home. I hope that this information will help provide new ideas.
Ideal Roofing matte 'if it's a true story. Most soils are not a real airplane and grooves cause that is perceptible limits. Because of the capacity factor of wash painting, painting many manufacturers to add a little sparkle to all, it gives you a real floor.
The old flat alkyd paint finishes are durable, soft and washable, very alkyd or oil-based paint is almost a thing of the past due to governmental restrictions on VOC levels in paints.
You can buy Ceiling paint usually is a real airplane. I suggest that you use. The only exceptions are kitchens and bathrooms. It is best to use Washable something about the limits as an eggshell or flat finish.
Matte finish - this gloss is ideal for walls. Some of the new lines of matte micro technology a ceramic balls in the paint to give the appearance of a certain plan, however, the softness and abrasion resistance of alkyd mate. Most of the cheaper lines of latex wall paint will leave marks if you are polishing scrub them.
Matt is very architectural look, and clean for fingerprints or stains. I like to use the bathrooms for walls and ceilings as well. In other parts that I use only walls and the use of a dead flat ceiling paint on the ceiling.
Eggshell - This light is widely used for walls, corridors, kitchens and bathrooms. Because of the angular brightness level provides a better formula latex surface washable. I used to use Shell egg before the second new ceramic happened.
Satin - Brightness is the best choice for woodwork, moldings, doors and windows. Many people make the mistake of using semi-gloss. Semi-gloss is too sticky to research. The satin finish or gloss level is what I use for joinery and finishing either latex or oil base. It is the policy in all upper-class homes.
Semi-Gloss - This is mainly used in ancient times for bathrooms, kitchens, hallways, and finish carpentry. Terrazzo, basements, etc. The only exception would be today. Each since I started painting houses in 1991, only semi-gloss, I used a couple times. It's so rare.
Gloss - This light is common for entries before. If you can imagine seeing a broad white forehead with the full entry The side windows in the wood as you enter a house luxury, you will see that some are made in a very bright white. And most of the time it alkyd or oil formula.
In my case, it all for the brightness. I had to do some doors in a house once with a high gloss to a dentist. He wanted to show white teeth, I suppose!
That's all you need to do to light levels for exterior painting. For painting I use an external low gloss (this which is comparable to an egg shell) or a satin finish, when he tries to siding, doors, moldings, etc. I agree the brightness level that was used before, unless the customer wants something different.

Can latex semi-gloss latex paint mixed with paint flat calm down about the end of Satan?
with 5 gallons of paint white latex semi-gloss, satin needs. Can you mix in a small flat latex paint to reduce shine?
Of course! In addition, matting agents can be purchased at art supply stores. They are to do flat paints. You can reduce the brightness of the latter, too.

What have Mercedes Vitos got to do with Mountain Biking?
There are a lot of clever people in advertising. Ask me what to do to help to sell a load of vans and I would never think of getting ‘down with the kids' involved with a load of mountain bike racers. Selling a new type of sweet, sickly drink yes, Mercedes Vito vans, no.
The ad people aren't daft, but maybe you could accuse them of putting their own self-interest first by inventing these wacky campaigns, in so doing lining the pockets of their own Oswald Boateng suits. But the people who run Mercedes Benz van division are no fools in emperor's clothes (at least I hope they're not). They have to justify what they spend on marketing and they have to sell vans at a profit. I assume therefore that they ‘get it'.
I assume it is an ‘aspirational approach' we all want to be like the trendy mountain bikers. If I am an 18 stone builder and need a van for work, why not buy a Mercedes Vito that makes me feel like a lithe mountain biker touring Europe with a group of foxy roadies.
Time will tell of the approach has worked, at the moment, Mercedes Benz is underperforming compared to their own historical standards, their registrations are 9% down on last year in a market that is currently 26% up on last year.
Will the sponsorship of the Mountain bikers and the production of a mountain bike game App for the iPhone turn this situation around? I hope so; otherwise the Oswald Boateng suit will be needed to hide the Emperor's shame.
The Mercedes Vito van is a great van that can suit for any use, whether it is for transporting goods by a logistics company or for a paint and decorator to hold all there paint and brushes while on the job. If you go out on the streets and look for handy men, builders, plumbers, electricians and ask them what there favourite van is, the majority of them would say the Vito, that is if they have drove this van before. You can quite easily find cheap Mercedes Vito vans for sale online, just simply go to Google and search for vans for sale, you will then find plenty of websites offering used vans or brand new vans, but seen as the van will most probably get damaged by tools within the van you might as well purchase a used van, as there a lot cheap than new vans..

help, i was painting the trunk of my car and the mist flew on to the rest of the car? safe ways to remove it?
well i was painting the trunk of my 87' mercedes because it was scratched up. as i started painting it the mist flew all over the place and landed all over the car and dried up. now it looks like dried up skin cells on top of the original charcoal paint. i am totally sad and bumed out that i screwed it up. whats the safe'est way of removing this dried up stuff without scratching the original paint? its stuck on pretty good. (really really fine sand paper?, some type of cream?)
No biggie -
Get yourself some rubbing compound, that will take the top layer of clear coat off the car
Then use a polish to bring back the factory shine.
A high speed buffer is fastest, and easiest.
Next time use a drop cloth like a .50 mil plastic! !

When Is The Right Time To Repaint Your Secondhand Car?
Repainting your secondhand car comes with much more consideration than what the new color or the overall cost will be. A paint job is normally done at a body shop, and there is no specific time when special deals will be given unless such as an in house promotion or a customer appreciation offer. Repainting a car especially in a different color than what it originally was devalues it and for a secondhand car that is already devalued, the price point of the car further depreciates. If you are planning to sell your secondhand car do not repaint it; sell it as is, because it would only be disadvantageous to the seller to spend money on repainting that cannot be recouped.
Considerations before repainting a secondhand car
Cost
A secondhand car needing a few repairs may be a good deal up until the cost of those repairs are determined. One such cost is the repainting of the vehicle. Shop around for competitive prices at various body shops and ensure to view a sample of their work. Remember you get what you pay for so don't expect the price for repainting the car to be too cheap.
Insurance and registration issues
When repainting a car in the color stated on the VIN (vehicle identification number) report, or a color in that family, there are no ramifications for insurance or registration as the VIN report does not have to be changed to reflect color changes made to the vehicle. If however, the owner decides to repaint in a color different from that stated on the VIN report, a formal change of registration to reflect the color changes should be made. Your insurance company must also be informed of the color change. This is important for issues of law enforcement, as an unreported color change could put the driver of the vehicle in serious trouble with the police if they are ever pulled over.
Where to do the repainting
Of course one could take on the repainting of their secondhand car; it would be much cheaper and the project would be fun. If there is no desire or time to take on this do-it-yourself project then any recommended body shop in your hometown will do. Select the body shop based on price point and the quality of work done there.
Value for money on your secondhand car repaint
A good paint job can have a secondhand car looking like new and a poor paint job can make the car look even older than it is. To ensure that the painter has done their job well, look out for tape lines, uneven paint and overspray. These are common
Problems with repainted cars.
The right time to repaint your secondhand car, unless you plan to sell it in the near future, is now. On average, secondhand cars will lose more value than new cars in a repaint, but if the purpose of the car is for personal use then it is worth it. Before deciding on color and where to do the repaint, be sure to check if any issues will exist with insurance or the government and ensure that the cost will be affordable to you.

How much does car paint cost?
I am trying to find out how much car paint cost dark blue color, and where can i find it?
The car is a chrysler sebring 1999
How much will it cost me to buy the paint for the whole car?
I am painting the car on my own Also Any tips ?
I would just say go to Maaco and get it done. They usually have $199 paint specials including one coat of primer and color. Thats the best you can do otherwise its not going to look right because you wont have the right equipment and itll just end up looking like you spray painted it when residue falls in it.

How to make an old car gold
I was not worried for being an owner of an old car. I knew a sports car or new car is beyond my capacity. Normally the dream of buying them hardly came in my mind. Their maintenance cost is also high. I was carrying a fairy dream in me, once a big change will come in my life and if I get lots of extra money, I will buy one of them. Though my other half loves to ride luxurious car, she never shout me about this. I am lucky because she understands the financial condition and way of life that should be applied during this situation.
I always take care of my 95 model road machine. When I was being the forth owner of this car, I believed the last lady owner took enough care of it, if I continue that love to the car it won't do anything wrong with me. My GF said my thinking style is oldish like a very 70 years people. In some instance she is right, because I never do speeding, always follow speed direction always follow state rules about driving. Actually I do more than the rule, where the speed limit is 60, I stay around 50 so that my car engine gets low pressure.
During our last wedding anniversary we tried to do something different, washed the window certain, cleaned the back garden and home carpet. We added a new flavourer to the car by painting it. It was not hard at all; get the colour code, buy spray paint and some primer and do the job. We took help from Internet on painting a car. She bought a pack of new seat cover. The black seat cover was a bit sporty. I was very happy as my car is going to get a new look. When we fitted the cover, the car got a different look but we did not like that. For some reason the shiny seat cover was not adjusting with the old car. Next day we returned the seat covers and bought stainless exhaust tip for the car. This was another funny toy that my wife liked. When the tip fitted, the ass of the new painted car was showing great. Yes the look was better when it is viewed a bit away from the car. The new looks provided me another idea, I thought if we install a muffler tips or a new exhaust system the car may perform better. But the thinking doesn't grow as this is not a very good car to invest. I found it is wise to rent a luxurious/sport car before joining in any party or to go for a long drive. Small develop like changing colour, adding exhaust tip, adding window film is affordable for these cars and these provides better value if you ever get a chance to sell.
After a long time we made lots of changes to the car by paying about $50 to the police as the window film was too dark. I was not aware of this; the window should brighter enough so that at least 40% light can pass through the window. Window film brought a great change to the car. We had to fit a new exhaust system to get the fitness certificate. It was a pain to spend this much money for this car but I thought it is still better than buying another one. The stainless exhaust system reduced the car noise and I feel the car performing much better. I am doing all these just because of the engine; it has never given me pain. My confidence increases when someone looks at the car with a query eye of buying.

Is there a way to make car paint that collects solar and wind energy to power an electric car?
If the paint could collect solar energy to charge a battery, and then once the car starts moving, other fibers in the paint could convert the wind passing over the car to electrical energy, wouldn't this be a way to decrease our dependency on fossil fuels. Is there any technology out there that can do such a thing?
No. Air drag is one of the chief components in auto efficiency. What you describe would increase air drag.
As far as the solar part goes most cars have about 12 square feet of surface in the sun when the car is in the sun. 12 square feet can produce 900 watts. In four hours that would be 2700 Watt hours. A gallon of gasoline is about 37,000 Watt hours. What means is is that it is going to take over 100 days to produce the energy of one gallon of gasoline and everything has to be perfect.
